HPU'S Department of Communication' s Study Abroad Program in SEVILLE, SPAIN. MAY 13- JUNE 10, 2010

COME JOIN US !

Join Melina Lillios and Dr. Matt George for a month-long adventure of learning and fun in one of the most rich and diverse cities of the world. You will have the opportunity to take both Interpersonal Communication (Comm3200) with Melina and Intercultural Communication (Comm3300) with Dr. G in a one-month period, while living and learning in the capital of Andalucia, home to the flamenco and bullfight ! There will also be a graduate course offered for Interpersonal Comm (6910) and as well as a directive study course arranged with Dr. G.

We will be using the classroom faciities of the world renowned Don Quijote Spanish Language school (http://www.donquijote.org/english/sevilla.asp), situated in the heart of the Santa Cruz District, home to some of Seville's most famous architecture.

The school is located in a magnificent historic building in the center of the city. The building dates back to 1919 and was designed by one of the most famous architects in Spain, Aníbal González, who also designed the famous "Plaza de España", considered to be one of the most important architectural monuments in all of Seville.

Walking distance from the school are some of the most well-known tourist attractions of Seville including the Giralda Tower, the Alcazar and the Cathedral of Seville. Here you will witness firsthand the wonderful mix of influences from both the Spanish and Moorish cultures.

With HPU's study abroad program in Spain, you will be on a Mon-Thursday class schedule, with weekends open to explore the city and its fascinating surroundings . Why not take in a bullfight at the famous Plaza del Toros or enjoy a night of traditional flamenco at the nearby Carboneria, just a few minutes walk from the school ? Spanish language classes can also be easily arranged with the Don Quijote School.

Seville is also a walker's and biker's dream come true ! There are plenty of parks, riverside bike paths and cobblestone streets to explore both day and night.

Cafes abound as do museums, bookstores, and shops.

You are also never far from the city's Guadalquivir river, the very same river that Christopher Columbus set sail from on his way to discover America !

If escaping to the beach is your weekend desire, Spain's famed southern coast is just a couple of hours away by bus or train.

There is most definitely something for everyone in this most amazing city !

Come join us for the educational experience of a lifetime.
